When importing or breeding across borders, attention should be drawn to the fact that there are three governing bodies covering the Breed Standard and their standards are not identical.
The Danish Kennel Club (DKK) is a member of the Fédération Cynologique Internacionale (FCI), which has about 80 member-countries following a mutual Breed Standard regarding the Weimaraner. The British have the Kennel Club in Britain (KC) and the Americans have the American Kennel Club (AKC). Different Breed Standards imply that attention should be drawn to the possible differences when importing a dog.
